Bomarzo is a charming town of Etruscan origins, perched on a spur of volcanic rock, between Viterbo and the nearby Umbria region. It is an unforgettable destination thanks to the famous Park of Monsters, an original complex whose origins hark back to 1552, when it was conceived with the name of Villa delle Meraviglie da Vicino Orsini. The park, situated in the valley below the town, houses bizarre and grotesque sculptures and a small octagonal temple.
